JAIPUR: Sonia Gandhi has said that Congress remains the most popular political party in India.
"Congress is the only pan-India party with presence in all cities and villages," Sonia Gandhi said.
The Congress president also said that the party should look at its strengths and weaknesses.
"There is increased competition and inroads have been made in our traditional strongholds," Congress chief Sonia Gandhi said.
Sonia Gandhi was addressing the Congress Party's 'Chintan Shivir' at Jaipur on Friday.
Ways to shore up the economy, women's empowerment, foreign affairs, organisational strength and the recent flash mob protests will be discussed at the Congress' strategy session at Jaipur Jan 18-20.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the party's de facto number two Rahul Gandhi will address the All India Congress Committee session on Jan 20, which will approve the Jaipur declaration.
That declaration is expected to serve as a guide to the party in the nine assembly polls to be held 2013 and the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
